EcoGastroCert explains: Basic, Silver, Gold
2026-08-13
EcoGastroCert is the Swiss certification scheme for energy-efficient catering kitchens – a signal to guests, building owners and contracting authorities, whilst also offering benefits for your own cost efficiency. To draw an analogy with buildings: EcoGastroCert plays a similar role for the kitchen as Minergie does for an entire building.
The certification is based on two data sources: EnergyCalc provides the basis for the planning phase (TZ1), whilst EnergyCheck provides the basis for day-to-day operations (TZ2). Together, they provide a complete picture – from kitchen planning right through to everyday operations at the hob.
Establishments can achieve one of three levels depending on the efficiency level attained: Basic, Silver or Gold. More details on the specific criteria for each level will follow in a separate, more detailed article.
